While AirTap's WiMAX's technology brings true multipoint wide area coverage to the GoM, it is our robust backhaul which combines the best of microwave and fiber capabilities.

Our high-capacity backhaul packet microwave offshore network brings gigabit capacity to our WiMAX-enabled wide area coverage.

Once to the shoreline, fiber provides the recution on in cost-per-bit for the increasing bandwidth demanded to have an acceptable business case for next-generation services. Additionally, new IP-based services are not well-suited to being transported across a circuit-switched infrastructure.

In addition to our geographically-diverse tower locations and our redundant insertion points, fiber to core adds another measure of protection against service disruptions from weather related events.
